The first of the new type was rolled out of ShinMaywa s factory in Kobe outside Osaka in April. Japanese industry officials say ground tests with the US-1A Kai s four Rolls-Royce AE2100J turboprop engines running will be completed by air max plus the end of this month. ShinMaywa and the Japanese adidas sambarose Defence Agency JDA are aiming for an August first flight.JDA is waiting for the first flight to complete a contract for the initial batch of aircraft. JDA is expected to ultimately procure 14 new US-1A Kais, but at a slow pace that could extend the acquisition past 2020. The Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force JMSDF plans in 2004 to begin retiring its fleet of seven US-1As, powered by General Electric T64-10J turboprops. The modernised US-1A Kai also features an upgraded boundary layer control system that has been tested by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The system improves the airflow over the wing, reducing the stalling speed and enabling the aircraft to land at lower speeds. The new aircraft also is equipped with a glass cockpit, new flight control system and a modified wing.ShinMaywa plans to test fly the first production US-1A Kai for 100h before handing it over to the JMSDF in Mdhv Victorian Values Source: Monumental Pictures/Rex Shutterstock / See-Saw, Gabriel Goldberg / Working Title FilmsAlison Owen, Iain Canning, Tim BevanTim Bevan, co-chairman of Working Title Films, Iain Canning, joint managing director of See-Saw Films, and Alison Owen, partner at Monumental Pictures, will come together to discuss the state of play for their respective companies and the international-facing content they produce at the upcoming Restart Conference May 18-20 .Register hereThe three powerhouse British producerswill explore a range of topics including the impacts of the pandemic and Brexit on production and securing crews and talent; sourcing and developing film and television projects that will connect with audiences; and adidas yeezy forging relationships with the new global players. The live panel, chaired by Screen International editor Matt Mueller, will take place online at 9:30am BST on May 19.Organised by Media Business Insight MBI , publisher hydro flask cooler ofScreenandBroadcast, the three-day virtual industry conference will see a number of sessions discussing the impact of the pandemic on the industry and how it can move forward, successfully navigating its way into the future.Find out more here. The confe owala canada rence is free to attend for subscribers of MBIs leading media brands:Screen international, Broadcast, KFTV, Broadcast Intelligence, Commissioners IndexandProduction Intelligence. To claim your free subscriber pass for the event, head to the website, register your interestand the team will be in touch.
